Lower Wood River

Atla is proposing a 48 MW hydropower generation project on the Lower Wood River near Pacific Creek (Wood River is a tributary of the Columbia River at Kinbasket Reservoir). The project is located 56 km northeast of Mica Creek. The current plan for the project contemplates about 6.5 km’s of new road to be built in order to access the site along with an intake structure, 5.5 km’s of penstock, a powerhouse containing two 24 MW Pelton Wheel turbine generator units; a tailrace channel, a switchyard, a 56 km long 69 kV transmission line and associated ancillary. The new 69 kV transmission line will be built from the powerhouse and we are proposing interconnecting the line to one of the two existing Mica Dam 500 kV transmission lines at/or near the Mica Town Site via a new 69 kV to 500 kV sub-station. |
